Digital Cameras: Do most people use the LCD or the viewfinder to aim the camera?
I’m buying a camera for my wife and have found a highly rated camera for a kow price (Kodak C180). I just noticed, to my surprise, that it has no viewfinder.
I’ve had a digital camera for several year and almost always use the viewfinder because, well, it just feels right. But maybe it’s just because I’ve been using cameras for 30 years and they have always had viewfinders (till now).
Also, with my digital camera, I can’t really see the LCD screen when out in the sun. Are the LCDs brighter nowadays?
I’m just wondering if my wife will like this camera or not. She’s never owned a camera.
I personally would not own a camera that did not have a viewfinder. Holding a camera at arm’s length is just asking for blurry photos. On the other hand, holding a camera up to your eye and pressed next to your cheek will usually assure the least camera movement during longer exposures
